Feeds

Post new Reddit posts, YouTube videos and GitHub releases in a channel automatically.

Off by default. Turn it on in /feeds. Free servers get 3 feeds checked every 10 minutes. Premium gets 100, checked every minute.

How to use it

Add a feed

  1. Run /feeds and press Feeds: OFF so it shows ON.
  2. Press Add Feed and pick Reddit Feed, YouTube Feed, GitHub Repo or GitHub User.
  3. Fill in the subreddit, YouTube channel (like @mkbhd), repo (like vercel/next.js) or GitHub username.
  4. Pick the channel to post in and, if you want, a role to ping.
  5. Press Save & Activate Feed. Only new posts from now on are sent.

Check a feed works

  1. In /feeds, pick the feed from the dropdown and press Test Post. The newest item is posted without pinging anyone.

Commands

/feeds
Feeds Manage Server

Opens the feeds panel with every feed in the server and how many you've used. Only you can use it.

On the panel
  • Feeds: ON / OFF: Turns all feeds on or off.
  • Add Feed: Add a new feed:
    • Reddit Feed: A subreddit. Optionally only posts with certain flairs, like News, Patch Notes.
    • YouTube Feed: A channel's new uploads.
    • GitHub Repo: New releases, commits, tags or wiki edits. Optionally filter by keywords.
    • GitHub User: Someone's public activity, like new repos and pull requests.
    • Custom message: Text posted with each item. Tags like {title}, {url} and {role} fill in automatically.
  • Feed dropdown: Open a feed to manage it:
    • Change target channel: Move the feed to another channel.
    • Test Post: Post the newest item now.
    • Edit Settings: Change the filter and custom message.
    • Webhook: ON / OFF: Premium. Posts show the platform's name and logo instead of Dexel's.
    • Pause Feed / Resume Feed: Stop or restart this feed.
    • Delete Feed: Removes the feed right away.
  • Refresh: Reloads the list.

Give Dexel Send Messages and Embed Links in the feed channel. If it loses them, the feed is removed.
