Giveaways

Host giveaways that members join with one button. Add entry requirements, bonus entries for certain roles, or a Split or Steal twist.

On by default. You can switch it off in /giveaway config.

How to use it

Host a giveaway

  1. Run /giveaway create in the channel where the giveaway should go (or pick one with the channel option).
  2. Fill in the form: prize, duration (like 2h or 1d), number of winners, and claim instructions that winners get by DM.
  3. A setup card appears. Optionally add requirements, a required or blocked role, bonus entries for roles, or a participant cap.
  4. Press Launch Giveaway. The giveaway is posted and you get its Giveaway ID. Keep it: every other giveaway command uses it.
  5. When time runs out, winners are drawn, announced in the channel, and sent the claim instructions by DM.

Enter a giveaway (members)

  1. Press Enter on the giveaway post.
  2. Make sure your DMs are open for the server. Dexel DMs you a receipt, and you can't enter without it.
  3. You get a private card with your entries and your chance to win. If you are missing a requirement, it tells you which one.

Manage a running giveaway

  1. Find the ID with /giveaway list (it is also at the bottom of the giveaway post).
  2. Change the prize, time, winners or cap with /giveaway edit.
  3. Freeze it with /giveaway pause and continue with /giveaway resume. Paused time is added back.
  4. Finish early with /giveaway end, or stop it with no winners with /giveaway cancel.
  5. Need a new winner after it ended? Use /giveaway reroll.

Split or Steal

  1. In the setup card, press Format: Standard to switch it to Split & Steal. Decision Time sets how long finalists get to choose (24h by default).
  2. When it ends, 2 finalists are drawn and each gets a DM with Split and Steal buttons. Choices stay secret.
  3. Both split: both win. One steals: the stealer wins it all. Both steal: nobody wins.
  4. If time runs out before both choose, a Reroll Finalists button is posted for the host.
